Big Lots
Experience Design, Signage Design, Copywriting, Brand Strategy, & Customer Research - With ALLOY, Inc.
Along with Alloy team members of research and strategy, as well as other designers, I worked on the brand language development, brand strategy, and asset design for Big Lots’ 2017-2018 brand repositioning and visual identity refresh. Some notable pieces that I greatly contributed to and helped in presenting to our clients include in-store signage design, brand language development and guidelines, the color palette, copywriting strategy and implementation, customer research, and overall brand strategy.
Working on the in-store signage consisted of consulting on imagery, creating native files to go to print, creating and presenting concepts for signage designs, and more.
The We Serve Big book contained illustrations and prompts for employee behaviors and relations, of which I played a role in art directing and creating the layout. As for the brand colors, I assisted in choosing and assigning uses for each color in CMYK, PMS, and RGB. Within the verbal identity portion of the brand language guidelines, I led development of the strategy and implementation of on-brand copy.
Overall, I was able to contribute to many aspects of Big Lots' brand development, even customer research through shop-alongs,photography for research surveys, consulting on marketing strategies, and overall creative strategy, visual concepting, and producing final files.
