Abound Baby Boxes is a curated box company that delivers unique, designed items for babies, right to the parents' doorstep -- all based on the prompt of a binder clip. In thinking how the binder clip holds paper together gently, I considered the caring bond between mother and child. Furthermore, the binder clip, as opposed to other binding methods, allows for papers to interchanged, which translated to the changing of a baby’s diaper, clothes, etc.  

The concept is a curated box that customers would order online for themselves, one time or monthly, or to give as a gift at a baby shower. The boxes would have diaper-bag-sized items, as well as a clothing item, and would be inspired by a different destination every month.

The box itself has the main, hand-painted pattern, with this particular month's box being inspired by the Mediterranean. It has a magnetic closure, opens up to greet you with a “hello”, and reveals the product underneath the tissue paper.

The brochure contains information about the company and the products in the box. Referencing back to the binder clip, the papers of the brochure are actually not permanently bond together, rather they can be kept loosely together or separated.

The pacifiers are included as comfort items for the baby, especially for when they are being changed. The designed onesie is handy to have around as a change of clothes for the little one and carries a fun little saying that not only refers to the Mediterranean theme, but also to the “zest” that a baby brings to life.

Sanitizing spray, wipes, and baby powder are included, in a travel size, for cleaning and changing the baby on the go. They are each designed with a coordinate pattern from the primary pattern and the scents refer to the Mediterranean theme.

While a baby kit might not be something you think of when you see a binder clip, the meaning behind it all comes together nicely. A binder clips easily hold and take care of papers, but allows room for change. Abound wants to make life a little easier and nicer for those who care for their children, who hold them and guide them and change their diapers and clothes.
